Chaperones and Volunteers

School Visitors/Background Check Information:

Holt Public Schools uses Raptor Visitor Management to help maintain a safe and secure learning environment. All visitors and volunteers must present a valid government-issued photo ID each time they enter a school building during school hours. The ID will be scanned through the Raptor Visitor Management System before entry is authorized. Approved visitors will receive a visitor badge, which must be worn and visible at all times while in the building and returned before leaving.

Who is a Visitor or Volunteer?

A visitor or volunteer is anyone who will be in any student space during the school day such as a classroom, lunchroom, field trip, class presentation and is not a current student or staff member at the school. Vendors and contractors who will be working on-site during the school day in locations where students are present are considered visitors. Parents/guardians attending a scheduled meeting with school staff and those who are escorted in student areas during school hours will not be required to scan their IDs.

What are Acceptable Forms of Identification?

Acceptable forms of identification must contain the visitor’s name, birth date, and a photograph.

  • U.S. or foreign driver’s license
  • U.S. or foreign government ID
