We would like to invite all of the parents/guardians to join us by getting involved this school year. A great way to do this is to become an active member of our PTO.

PTO meetings are open to all Sycamore parents/guardians, teachers and staff. Our monthly meetings are held to go over our budget, get updates on the events and happenings, and to get a State-of-Sycamore report from our principal. It's also a forum to discuss new issues and propose ideas. 
This years PTO meetings are scheduled on the second Tuesday of every month at 6:30 pm in the Sycamore Library.   We realize that many Sycamore families are involved in after school activities and sports, so please feel free to come late or only stay for as long as your schedule permits. We do not consider it a distraction and greatly appreciate any time you have available to participate.
If youare unable to attend, we encourage you to read the PTO minutes that are posted on the Sycamore PTO website or obtain a copy from the wooden wall file located near the PTO board by the office.  Please follow up with a PTO board member if you have any questions or concerns.

Volunteering Information
As a Sycamore Elementary parent/guardian, we hope that you will join us in volunteering. This is an enriching experience that will help  many children. The more help we have from parents/guardians, the greater the success of the PTO, leading to a better learning experience for all. Please consider the contribution you could make to our school and get involved.  We need you! We need volunteers throughout the year for recurring events or special *one time* only activities. Come help for whatever amount of time you can spare.  Some of the past activities that we've needed volunteers to help organize and run have included:

Box Top/Campbell Soup Label Contests  

School Carnival
    Movie Nights
    Game/Math Night
    Winter Walkthrough
    SCRIP
   Used Book Sale
    Product Fundraisers
    ...and much more.

How do I get involved?
It's easy to get involved and become an active participant.  You can get involved simply by attending a monthly PTO meeting or contacting a PTO  board member for information on volunteering for an upcoming activity. 

Other ways to Help

• Consider running for a board position (President, Vice-President, Treasurer or Secretary).  Letters of intent should be turned into the principal in April.  All positions can be shared between parents and staff.
• Donate art supplies and recycled materials (list of needed items can be found on the PTO board near the office) which can be used by the teachers for all grades and curriculum areas.
• Cut out the Box Top for Education logo on participating products and the UPC from Campbell's products.  These may be sent in with your student all year long (watch for contests during the year).

From time to time we will be sending home notes of items we are needing; whether it is recycled items from home, cookie tins for the cookie sale or used children's books and children's movies for the book sale.  We appreciate all donations!
