Redistricting Information from
Superintendent Dr. Scott
At its regular meeting on Monday, April 8, 2013, the Board of Education gave direction to the administration to proceed with changes to the current elementary and middle school boundaries in light of plans to repurpose Midway Elementary School to an Early Childhood Center in 2014-15.
Effective for the 2014-15 school year, attendance area boundaries will change for Dimondale, Elliott, Horizon, Sycamore and Wilcox Elementary Schools, and for a very limited number of middle school students.
A committee of parents, administrators and local unit of government officials reviewed demographics along with current and proposed attendance area boundaries. The committee asked questions and provided feedback to the administration regarding the proposed attendance area boundaries.
Listed below is the link to the Redistricting Guidelines, the current and proposed K-4 and 5-6 school boundary maps, a summary of transportation eligibility, and a composite list of street changes aligned to their new attendance elementary and middle schools that were discussed. Please know this process is "evolving" and modifications and/or updates will be acknowledged through the “Last Revision” date on the Redistricting Guidelines document.
Please call the Curriculum Office at (517) 699-1103 with specific questions pertaining to the revised boundaries and designated schools.
Dr. Johnny A. Scott
